Earth Day at Vishay UltraSource

May 1, 2019

How Did You Spend Earth Day 2019?

On April 22 & 25, members of Vishay UltraSource’s Joint Loss Management Committee completed an Earth Day dedicated project — “Street Clean Up Day“ — of Clinton Drive, Route 111, and our own parking lot.

We were thanked along the way by other employees of our neighboring companies for doing our part, and picking up the trash/litter that has accumulated over the years on our street. In total, we gathered 50 lbs of trash and litter along the streets.

Our focus was to give back to our environment, our community, and focus on working together to make a difference on Earth Day right here where we work in Hollis, NH.

We hope that we can inspire you to do your part towards protecting and helping the Earth in 2019!

Some Earth Day Information:

Founded on April 22, 1970, Earth Day began as a “National teach-in on the environment day” for the national media. With support from the White House, Congress, and State Representatives, these groups began organizing events dedicated to the spreading concern on the importance of environment conservation. What we do and don’t do today can drastically affect tomorrow, and who knows what that could be.

Earth Day’s massive impact on the environment and what we can do to make a difference, led to the development of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which is responsible for the protection of the environment and the creation of the Conservation of Endangered Species, the Clean Air, and Clean Water Acts.

Today, Earth Day has spread to a worldwide effort in over 184 countries and continues to be the driving force behind proper environmental practices and a leading example of how passion, when channeled towards helping the greater good, can make all the difference.
